Short Sydney Trip
Sydney looks great, but I still prefer Melbourne…
Sydney was very enjoyable. I still prefer Melbourne as a city, but Sydney does boast some spectacular scenery.
We stayed in a backpackers in King’s Cross, but we seemed to avoid the more seedy parts. I think the highlight was seeing Lano & Woodley at the Opera House (which is ironic, given that L&W are Melbournians). I got my DVD signed, which was good. I expect it to be worth many millions of dollars in 50 years or so.
Other highlights were the Lord of the Rings exhibition, the acquarium, a harbour cruise, and TropFest. We also caught some crazy Japanese guys shooting an advertisement for some mobile phone. They had about five guys and a girl dressed in superhero outfits, and the guy with the phone going up against them like his phone was capable of defeating them all. They had a great big fan blowing on them (which was rather loud). Repeated ‘args’ and ‘ohs’ along with muscle flexes made for some very amusing viewing.
All in all, I didn’t spend nearly as much as I thought I would, so that means I can afford some more DVDs, such as the ones I ordered this morning.
