Welcome to Curlyland
A new house, a new city… a new service provider!
Well, in the downtime over the past three weeks, a lot has happened. I now live in Fitzroy, in a house that can only be described as ‘Curlyland’. There are many interesting people and shops in the very near vicinity, and it is around ten minutes tramride from the center of town.
A huge benefit of moving to Melbourne is that I could say a not-so-sad goodbye to Neighborhood Cable, and a big fat hello to iiNet. They were even nice enough to upgrade their plans just before we signed up, so I have a 1500/256kbps connection.
In the downtime, I did actually do some much-needed work on MA 0.4, and it blows this shit out of the water. I have also started a little Java GUI app that may be expanded upon here in the near future. Some decent writing also took place. You can read an excerpt in the History section. I’m debating with myself whether or not to publish the entire thing here, because this is an important piece in the corpus.
All in all, an interesting three weeks. Now to get employed…

Hey fella, good to hear you landed well. Has your course started yet?
Oh by the way, I’ve been doing some hardcore work on NOVA, it’s all pretty much configurable through XML etc now. So when I’ve got a chance I’ll zip her up and send it your way.

I’ve not quite understood why the house is called Curlyland, but I presume there is some reason? Some piece of literature I’ve missed?
Anyway, you still have to visit completely-messy-and-filled-with-bits-of-computers-land

You have to see it to truly understand why it must be called Curlyland.
