Putting it to bed
A link to my thesis for those who wish to peruse it. Some thoughts on GTA:SA thus far.
Here is a link to a PDF of my thesis for those who wish to read it. If you find any problems with it, don’t tell me because it’s too late to do anything about it now.
I’ve been playing a fair bit of GTA:SA and getting used to the PS2 controller. I find it so very much better for driving given the gradiated sensitivity, but almost impossible for aiming when hanging on the back of a flatbed shooting at Russians on motorcycles. The game itself is great. I prefer the surroundings in Vice City a bit more at the moment, but I’m still stuck in Los Santos so it may improve in Las Venturas or San Fierro. The size of the game arena is awesome. I continue discovering huge areas that had previously escaped my attention. I sense much replayability in this one… even more so than its predecessors.
My new PowerBook will arrive some day this coming week. I’m already downloading software to put on it.

w00t! PS2 controller.
The PS2 controller is a work of genius, and whilst it isn’t very suitable for some things, it’s wonderful for almost everything else.I haven’t yet played the game so I don’t know exactly what you refer to, but I think I know what it means..

Well, precision aiming is basically the problem. Not too bad when you’re standing still, but when you’re moving along at a fair pace, and both you and your targets are darting back and forth in a random way, it gets nearly impossible. The game does compensate in that you can ‘lock on’ to people, but I don’t think it’s possible when you’re riding shotgun.
