I am writing this to you on my new computer. After an all-nighter putting it together, I’ve pretty much got everything working. There were only a couple of near-misses, such as enormous trouble installing the heat sink on the processor, a nasty slip of a screwdriver into the motherboard, and a bent molex pin, but overall, it wasn’t very difficult.

Unfortunately the monitor had still not arrived yesterday, so they are going to deliver it free of charge when it does arrive. That’s a pain, mostly because it means that until I get the LCD, I’m stuck with using this nasty old 15″ CRT that can’t handle anything above 1024×768x16. With the top-of-the-line video card that I have, it’s a painful situation.

I have been busily installing stuff on it, and I can’t believe how much easier UT2003 is when played at a good framerate. It’s like running Duke3d on my old laptop. Pure smooth sailing. I’m going to copy over the UT2004 demo in a minute to try that out.

Anyway, back to work…
