It’s been a while…
It’s been a while: papers to write; working (finally); major changes to honours project; Linux as my primary desktop? Yes please; and much writing on Eshtari.
It’s been a while since I last posted. But since only one other person reads MA at this stage, I don’t think it’s a big deal :).
What’s happening at the moment:
I have to write a paper for the SimTecT 2004 Simulation Conference and Exhibition by Monday 19th. Will I make it?
I have finally really begun working. After a dismal failure last week, I now have the source code I’m working on, and can get going. I’m just looking forward to the new computer the work is bringing me.
I have not two hours ago decided to scrap the idea of using .NET with OpenSceneGraph for my honours project. I have decided that it will be much easier to use Standard C++ with the FOX GUI toolkit. Whether or not I live to regret this decision I’ll have to wait and see.
I’ve been gravitating more and more towards having Linux as my primary desktop on the new machine. I’ve decided that most of the stuff I need to do I can do within Linux, either natively, or by using such things as Wine. Some of the stuff I’ve been playing with at Uni (notably, Super Karamba) is really cool. I just have to decide on a distro, now. Maybe FedoraCore, maybe Debian, or maybe Gentoo if I’m really ambitious.
I’ve been writing more Eshtari stuff in the past few weeks than I probably have in the past few years. I finally seem to have found a format for my writings, and a nice document is gradually making it’s way out of my fingers and into this computer. The maps are coming along very nicely as well, with a recent new and improved colour scheme enhancing thier readability and prettyness greatly.
That’s about it. I haven’t worked on this site very much recently. I think the next step is to get the Journal archive happening.
