Project done, new project

HistoryWiki: completed. Possibilities for a six-week full-time job at Uni (with some nice potential for reimbursement). Gaming session eventually went well, despite overheating and network troubles.

The HistoryWiki is now fundamentally complete. It is almost fully functional, with just a few enhancements left. I can now begin populating it with pages.

I have been offered the possibility of a six-week full-time job at Uni, involving a $5000 grant. It’s not yet been ratified by TPTB, but I would have thought that person who initiated the work would not have applied for the grant had he not been somewhat confident of its being accepted. If it comes off, I will spend whatever portion of that money that I receive on a new computer. If I were to receive the entire portion, it would probably allow me, coupled with the Honours scholarship I am supposed to get next year, to purchase both a desktop and a laptop. Nice… but I won’t let my hopes get too high at this stage of the game.

Speaking of games, I had some very satisfying gaming action with a friend over the past few days. Once we ironed out some of the problems plaguing our network, it went quite well. We ended up having to transfer data through an FTP connection, which was annoying. Further, my machine kept on overheating and rebooting until I opened the case. How likely is it around here that I should have cooling problems!
